Why We Do What We Do
We exist to facilitate fascinating, phone-free fun for families, friends and businesses in our region – because shared experiences matter.
In 2016, during a family trip to Florida, we booked our first-ever escape room to celebrate our child’s birthday. What surprised us most wasn’t the puzzles, but watching our teens laugh, collaborate, and put their phones away – for a full hour!
We left thinking, “This is the kind of experience people need more of.” That moment planted the seed that would become Mystery Mayhem.
How Mystery Mayhem Took Off
When we got back to PA, Scott was looking for a way to put down roots after years in the butchery and spice trade. When we found the building we use in Slippery Rock today, it clearly wasn’t meant to be a butcher shop… but it was perfect for something else.
We realized, “We could put an escape room or two in here…” That moment felt like destiny.
The Journey So Far
We’ve been involved with escape rooms for over nine years now, pouring our energy into building something special from the ground up. We’ve faced plenty of obstacles – including a global pandemic – but the creativity of designing rooms and the joy from customers like you have kept us going.

Keeping It Fresh
We’re constantly refreshing, rebuilding, and dreaming up new adventures. What started as a single room, Zombie Apocalypse, is now a multi-experience destination. We cycle in new rooms every year.
